Swansea Storm got the new Welsh Basketball season off to a flying start last Thursday with a comfortable 60-96 away victory over the South Wales Police. New signing Mike Gregory top scored for the Storm with a game high 26 points followed closely by Matt Daw 15, and American Import Joseph Womack 15.
This win extends Swansea's current unbeaten record from last season to 24 wins and 0 losses. After the game Head Coach of the Storm Gavin Lewis said "I'm pleased with how the team performed tonight, the new signings we have made over the summer are fitting in really well to our style of basketball. All of the starting five players scored double figures tonight which is pleasing to see, were now looking forward to our next game against the Cardiff Capitals next week.
Swansea Storm 2nds (Deuce) started the Division 2 season with a great away victory over Crickhowell Bulldogs. The Deuce won the game 57-65 with Point Guard Rob Thomas top scoring for the Deuce with 23 points 15 of which came from behind the 3 point ark, Rob Kinear scored 16 and Greg Hendricks scored 10.
